Growing up, I saw how certain crimes were more prevalent among offenders of certain racial backgrounds. So, at one time, if I heard about crimes like those allegedly committed by Tiffany Hall of East St. Louis, Ill., the face of a white woman would have come to me.
And I would have been wrong.
Hall is charged in the deaths of Jimella Tunstall and her fetus. Tunstall died as a result of having her throat slashed. Her fetus was cut from her womb.
Today, it is being reported that Hall may have also kidnapped and drowned Tunstall’s other 3 children, ages 7, 2 and 1.
Reading stories like this tell me that crime is truly colorblind. You have depraved people of all stripes who are all too willing to end human life in the most vicious of manners.
If Hall is guilty, I say she has to go. I am not a radical, pro-capital punishment type of person but, I draw the line at kids. In my mind, if you kill a kid, you should meet the same fate.
As time goes on, I am sure we will here more about motives but, all that really doesn’t matter right now.
What does matter is that 5 lives were lost, someone has to pay and the only thing truly colorblind in America is crime.
