Since the November Elections, where the Republicans were soundly defeated, Fox News has desperately been looking for anything that would arouse anger against people who don’t espouse their beliefs in hopes of “rallying the base”, so to speak.

So, it is no surprise to see the latest move they made. On Wednesday’s episode of Hannity and Colmes, they dredge up a story from 2005, where North Carolina State University professor Kamau Kambon, at a forum about Hurricane Katrina, hypothesized that exterminating white people would be necessary for black people to truly be free to move forward.

I definitely don’t agree with the idea but, let’s face it — most people don’t either so, this is a non-starter. Remember when Bill Bennett hypothesized that if you killed all black babies you would lower the crime rate? I wonder why Hannity and Colmes did not dredge that one back up.

Well, like I said, since the Republicans got their butts handed to them in November and the Iraq Study Group has come back and basically slapped the Bush Administration over its failed Iraq policy, Fox resorts, once again, to tabloid journalism.

So, they bring Minister Hasim Nzinga from the New Black Panther Party. It appears that it was their hope that he would either agree with or repudiate the professor publicly but, smartly, he did neither. Instead, he takes a unique position. He talks about how whites have actually exterminated people of color all over the world and ponders the question why they are their discussing about what one black man only talked about rather than repudiate what some white people have actually done in terms of exterminating another group of people.

Here’s a brief excerpt:

HANNITY: … that he has as twisted views as you do. Because you’re talking about exterminating white people.

NZINGA: What your audience, what your white audience has to ask, is what makes a professor talk like this?

HANNITY: What do you think makes him do that? What do you think does?

HANNITY: Why does he talk about exterminating white people?

NZINGA: When you study the British, they tried to exterminate every black person on earth.

HANNITY: So this is payback? Was that wrong?

HANNITY: Was that wrong?

NZINGA: When you study Hitler, Hitler tried to exterminate people. When you go to the people who really have carried these duties out, it’s always a person of color.
