FascismFascism:

  1. a political philosophy, movement, or regime (as that of the Fascisti) that exalts nation and often race above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition.
  2. extreme right-wing, authoritarian, or intolerant views or practice. The term fascism was first used of the totalitarian right-wing nationalist regime of Benito Mussolini in Italy (1922-43), and the regime of the Nazis in Germany were also Fascist. Fascism tends to include a belief in the supremacy of one national or ethnic group, a contempt for democracy, an insistence on obedience to a powerful leader, and a strong demagogic approach.

Some, like myself, fear that this country drifting more to a fascist form of government. You don’t think so? How many of us are scared to used certain combinations of words in public or even on the phone for fear of who might be listening?

So, the question today should be, is Bush starting the job his grandfather started? What am I talking about, you say? Well, in the 1930’s, Bush grandfather, Prescott Bush, was closely tied to the financial backers of the Nazi war machine.

As report by the U.K. newspaper, the Guardian, in 2004:

His business dealings, which continued until his company’s assets were seized in 1942 under the Trading with the Enemy Act, has led more than 60 years later to a civil action for damages being brought in Germany against the Bush family by two former slave labourers at Auschwitz and to a hum of pre-election controversy.

Now, more details are coming out about Prescott Bush’s involvement with other U.S. corporatists who sought to topple the U.S. government and turn it into a fascist state based on the policies of Hitler and Mussolini.

The BBC did a radio program on it’s investigation into this and it’s eye-opening. I have included a link below (you’ll need RealPlayer to listen to the program).
